INSPIRATION

Looking Glass of Bath make the most lovely mirrors, made up of antiqued mirror panels, they will design it with you and then assemble it and ship it ready to hang.

In the photograph a paneled mirror has been used to make the room seem bigger and lighter.

Perspective is very interesting, looking through one space to another draws the eye to dramatic effect. This is from my own house back in the 90s.

I recently decorated a large barn which has been converted into a holiday let, the landing was dark with only one small window so we used a pair of window lights to maximise light.

Dormer windows are notoriously difficult to dress, for this one we had a pelmet board made up and fitted in the recess of the window and hung curtains behind it.  The result was a great success.

Mirrors have been used to such great effect in this small drawing room, giving the feeling of space and light.

A client of mine lives in the most beautiful classic house near Hoxne, she wanted to redecorate her study and this is what we came up with.  The fabric is from Christopher Farr and the wallpaper from Designers Guild.

I find Kit Kemp’s work inspirational, I love her use of colours.  Also notice how she’s mirrored the recesses either side of the fireplace, this will give a much greater feeling of space in the room.
